Goals and Motivation

Decisions can be hard to make. But at the end of the day, if all you do is sit back and wait for things to happen, you will be waiting for the rest of your life. Opportunities don’t “just happen”. You have to seek out the Lord’s will for your life for Him to show you the path to take, and once He does, you have to take the next step and actually follow through.
“The sluggard doesn’t plow in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing. The purpose in a man’s heart is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.” Proverbs 20:4-5
“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14
It is difficult for some to be motivated, I struggle with motivation at times myself. But I do know that I need to get things done, and what better time to start than now! Discipline is doing what needs to be done, even if you don’t want to do it. The fact that you aren’t where you want to be should be motivation enough!
Be so busy trying to improve, that you have no time to dawdle. Be sure not to waste what time is given you.  Use every moment the Lord allows you to be productive! Always be about the work of the Lord, whatever work that may be in your life. But don’t have the mentality that you can just sit back and settle into a routine that really isn’t going anywhere. Start today! Pursue the Lord, accept where He leads you, and follow through! It really is as simple as that.
