Prayer Journal

Hey guys! I realized that I haven’t done a Christian Living post in awhile and I thought it was a good time for another one. So here we go! 😉

I was struggling with some things for a time and needed to make a change in my life. However, I was uncertain of what I needed to change to gain more balance. Then I stumbled upon this really cute journal of mine that I never ended up using. It was just a blank journal – which is odd for me because if I have a really cute journal just lying around, chances are I will find a use for it. But anyway, I found this empty journal and something told me to start writing in it and just let whatever wanted to come out go on the page. What I ended up writing was a prayer to God for clarity. So I decided to start a prayer journal and I’ve committed to writing in it everyday.

There are so many things in my life that distract me and often times, unfortunate though it is, take my focus off of eternity. But keeping this prayer journal and writing out my praises and requests and really just any thoughts and taking them to the Lord has been such a huge help for me! I tend to think better through writing than through any other medium, so this approach works well for me, but if you are interested in doing something like this and don’t know what to write, maybe try another medium.

You can make little post-it notes or little cards throughout the day, just lifting your heart up to God. You can set reminders via alarm clocks or otherwise throughout the day to remind you to take some quiet time and just focus on God. If you don’t always know what to say or write, you can just meditate on Him and His word. There are so many ways to commune with the Lord throughout the day, and I promise you that if you do, you won’t regret it. It will start to transform your life in ways that you would never have imagined. It has for me and I’ve only just started a couple of weeks ago. But don’t make it into a routine or something that you have to do. Allow it to be genuine. All prayer and fellowship with God should be genuine. Let Him transform your life and reap the benefits! And then don’t forget to thank Him always and stay true to His word.

I hope this has been helpful to you, and hope you have a wonderful rest of your day! 🙂
