Hi lovelies! While I don’t think my skin is all that great personally, I have had people compliment me on it, so I thought I would make a post to let you know what products I use and how I apply them.
Right off the bat I’ll tell you that while I love makeup, I don’t think that makeup is the answer to skin problems. A great skincare routine is absolutely essential, I can’t emphasize that enough! So let’s get into the details! 🙂
In the morning I rinse with warm water and use an essential oil toner spray made up of water, tea tree oil, and peppermint, although I sometimes swap the peppermint out for eucalyptus. Then I lightly moisturize and go about my day.
At the end of the night, I use coconut oil or olive oil to loosen up and remove my makeup. If I don’t have a ready supply of those, I will also use just regular baby oil. Then I take a clean cloth and wipe away the oil from my face and wash with just soap and water. After that, I massage an essential oil mix onto my face and place a hot, damp cloth over it to help open up the pores and clean out any impurities.
The essential oil mix that I use is tea tree oil and lavender, with a base of coconut or olive oil. Of course, depending on your own tastes, those oils are completely changeable.
After I have used the hot, damp cloth on my face about two or three times, I will just take it and rub off any excess oils. Then I use a water-based spray with peppermint and tea tree essential oils and just spray it all over my face. It cools your skin down and helps to seal your pores to prevent any nasty stuff getting back in. And as a perk, the tea tree oil helps to prevent breakouts!
Then I just use whatever moisturizer I have lying around at the moment and I’m done. I don’t usually use any special moisturizer because I don’t like to spend a lot of money on products. I usually just use drugstore moisturizers and they’re constantly changing. I like to experiment a lot with new products, so I don’t have one in particular that I stick to. Any moisturizer that you generally like to use will work fine.
I am a huge fan of DIY stuff, especially if you can get the perks without the extra spending, so using essential oils in my skincare routine has really helped me out a lot! I hope it helps you too! 🙂
