5 Quotes That Inspire Me

Maybe it’s just me, but do you ever feel like you’re just not strong enough? Like no matter what you do or say or think, no matter how hard you try, you just don’t have it in you?! That’s been me lately.

I feel like I’m always tired. To the point where the tiniest things will set me off. It’s gotten so easy for me to get annoyed or irritated, but I hate to be in that state of mind all the time. It’s draining and it’s not fun for me, let alone the people around me.

So I thought why not talk about some quotes that daily inspire me to help get out of the dump I seem to be in? Everyone needs a little positivity in their lives anyway! So here’s 5 quotes that help me, and maybe they’ll help you too! 😀

1. Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.

This is so true. Everyone has a bad day (or week, or month, or… dare I say year? :/ ), I get that. But you can’t just look at the negatives. Even if it’s something seemingly small: a smile from a stranger (but not in a creepy way! haha) or a thoughtful text from a friend, a listening ear, or a hug from a sibling. Whatever it is, look for it and remember it through the day. I promise it helps.

2. Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life; tiptoe if you must, but take the step.

This is something I’ve struggled with, especially this year. I stopped college and I’m still kind of dealing with the after shock of not being in school, but I think a step back was something that I desperately needed. It was a scary step to take, but I’m glad that I did.

3. You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.

This is actually a C.S. Lewis quote. It stuck with me since the first time I read it. I can’t even begin to explain how many times I’ve regretted past actions, but I can’t go back and change them no matter how much I may want to. The only thing to do is to keep moving forward. I can’t change the past, but I can do better with the future.

4. Grow through what you go through.

Were wiser words ever spoken?! It’s so easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment and sometimes it seems like there’s really no light at the end of the tunnel. Of course there is, but sometimes it’s not always visible from where we’re at. But I’m slowly but steadily learning that it’s important not to let a situation control me. I need to grow through whatever trials come my way and learn from them. It’s hard and I would be a liar if I said I’d mastered it, but I am making progress. 🙂

5.  Be kind, work hard, stay humble, smile often, stay loyal, be honest, and travel when possible.

I think this one may just be my favorite quote so far. It’s so good. It’s just too easy to let yourself grow hardened. But you can’t properly enjoy life with a frown on your face! Kindness, hard work, humility, laughter, loyalty, honesty: these are things that will never go out of style!

I really hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing it! It was really quite therapeutic for me. Hopefully it was also helpful for you! Inspiration can be found all around us.

To quote Albus Dumbledore (I quote Harry Potter way too much and I’m not even sorry), “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
