Happy Days

happy days

As I was preparing material for today’s post, I realized that I just want to share a little bit of my happiness with you all. It’ll be a shorter post than usual, but I wanted to share my day with you. So here’s a little bit of what makes me smile! 😉

I’m not usually a morning person, but I woke up early today. I prayed and spent some quiet time with God and then I went for a run. I haven’t gone running in such a long time, but it was so exhilarating!

The crisp, cold air blowing past me, the burn that exercise brings, the quiet atmosphere. It was a good time. I loved every second.

Then I had some errands to run and came home to make french toast and coffee for breakfast.

I played with my two dogs and spent more time outdoors. It was such a beautiful morning! The sunlight dancing on the ground, the cool breeze softly blowing through the trees, the lovely feel of Fall. It was a great morning.

I felt peaceful and happy, energized and almost giddy.

Days like this are the best. To just enjoy the little things is such a blessing. I love the beauty of the simple, ordinary things in life.

I’m spending the rest of my day reading and listening to music, playing the piano and singing my favorite songs, coffee in hand and the aroma of freshly lit scented candles. (Possibly watching some college football with the best person on earth 😉 )

These are the days to look back on and smile at. These are the days I’ll appreciate when I’m older. This is the time to make memories. This is the time to live and enjoy to the fullest the life I’ve been given.

Here’s to happy days! 😀

  1. Sounds like …the best day ever! It is still like summer where I live, but you better believe I already have fall plug ins and candles going.

I like how your post amplifies how much satisfaction you found in the “little things.” Those truly are what makes our day. I recently read a part of my Bible Study from Courtney Joseph about how much better our day would be if we truly appreciated and thanked God for every little thing that “makes” our day. Something as simple as a perfect tasting cup of coffee to make our mornings start out positive is worth praise and a “thank you” to the Lord. Kind of like affirmations, only directly to God. We always thank him when he gets us through hard times or heals a sick family member, but where are the “thank you’s” for waking up to beautiful weather or even running water? An un-stuffy nose?

I am currently challenging myself to start thanking God for everything because every little thing I take for granted makes my day work. I may phrase it as “thank you God for all of the little things you bless me with that I tend to overlook.”

Again, wonderful post. I felt “warm” at heart thinking about just the peace and tranquility of your fall day. I am still here, at work, burning up at 90 degrees. Fall will come…maybe the decor before the actual weather but the fall will come lol.
