5 Favorite Musicals

5 Favorite Musicals

Hey friends! It’s another favorites post!

I wanted to write about 5 of my favorite musicals, but I just couldn’t decide which ones I love the most! It was hard for me to pick just a few, but I finally narrowed it down to just 5. They aren’t in any specific order though because I love them all equally πŸ˜‰

1. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

WhoΒ doesn’tΒ love Willy Wonka?! I’m talking about the Gene Wilder rendition of course, because he is truly the only actor who was ever fit to play that role. I feel very passionate about this. But really though, a musical all about candy… What’s not to like!

2. Fiddler on the Roof.

I can’t even count how many times I have seen this movie. I know all the lyrics and almost all the words. It’s justΒ sooo good! I can’t even talk about it. I can’t find the words. It makes me speechless with its pure greatness. Everything about it is great.

3. The Sound of Music.

Can I just start out by saying,Β Julie Andrews?! I’m convinced anything she plays in is great. She’s just so perfect! To quote Mary Poppins, “Practically perfect in every way.” And the romance in this movie is beyond words, it’s so well done! The only thing that kinda ruins it for me is that Captain Von Trapp was dubbed in… But I can look past that I suppose. Because this really is a great musical.

4. Mary Poppins.

This is another great one! A movie with bothΒ Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke in it can only be described as pure awesomeness. (Is that even a word?!) The talent! The style! The humor! It’s incredible.

5. My Fair Lady.

No matter how many times I watch this movie, I’m struck by how well Jeremy Brett sings and how funny Professor Doolittle is. As much as I love Audrey Hepburn though, I’m not a huge fan of her singing abilities. It really should have been Julie Andrews. In fact, the live play sounds so much better just because of Julie Andrews. But even so, I still love the movie. It always makes me laugh!

These really were in no particular order, I love them all and couldn’t bring myself to rate them.

Can you tell that I kinda like musicals?! haha πŸ˜‰

  1. I love musicals. Shows like Sound of Music, Annie, Wicked, Les Mis, Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Newsies, Music Man, and Pippin are some of the ones I love.

In my perspective, most musicals are happy, but all are joyful. Musicals just are this world of spectacle, dance, comedy, tragedy, romance, positive and negative emotions and strong emotional connections

My blog itself really shows just how much I love musicals
