Words from Shakespeare

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments. Love is not love

Which alters when it alteration finds,

Or bends with the remover to remove:

O no! It is an ever-fixed mark

That looks on tempests and is never shaken; Continue reading

Hope

“Hope” is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune without the words,

And never stops at all.

And sweetest in the gale is heard;

And sore must be the storm

That could abash the little bird

That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chilliest land

And on the strangest sea;

Yet, never, in extremity,

It asked a crumb of me.

Rainy Days

It seems that even though we are headed into Spring, the rainy winter weather is still desperately hanging on. Truthfully though, I’m glad it is! I love the cold, overcast, rainy days much more than I probably should.

This drawing of a girl with her umbrella (the rain is implied 😉 ) is very simple, but it gave me a chance to work on some cross hatching techniques, and I really like the simple look of it too. 🙂

The Power of Silence

“Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!”
Psalm 141:3

Have you ever noticed that “listen” and “silent” are formed with the same letters? Silence isn’t empty, it can be full of answers.

“Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

The ability to be still is best learned in silence.

Someone once said, “Silence is a source of great strength.”

Albert Einstein once said, “I think 99 times and I find nothing. I stop thinking, swim in silence, and the truth comes to me.”

Another person once said, “Silence is the language of God, all else is poor translation.” And you know what? I think he got it right.

Psalm 62:5 says, “For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him.”

Let go of all the unnecessary noise in your life and all the meaningless pitter-patter. Learn to wait and to be still in silence. For the Lord is a tender, loving Father, and He often speaks in the silence. Learn to be quietly submissive to His voice in your life.
